Ask the Experts

This topic is purely for asking questions directly towards the Expert Players of BfME. In this topic you can feel free to ask any question regarding BfME or competitive online play to any of the experts and get an answer for your question.

You can either direct your question towards a certain person or just leave a question open so that any Expert can give an answer to it.

yoo i just saw the vod of my games as isen, expected worse flames tbh, got some usefull tips. ive 1 more question about how to micro the pikes. how do you not get caught by horses? gotta need to know that one

For example: when horses have upgrades and your pikes dont, you know you cant fight them in melee.
So thats when you want to micro away from the horse. You pay attention that your pikes dont walk straight into them, so you do not click attack. You walk away and when the horses want to attack while you're walking away in another direction they will eventually "trample" into the pike and die.
Golden rule with pikes is you always buy banner on them, blades only if you are rich and armor almost never.

hi, what's best in 4x FOL game? some ppl go hero only some go fast horse and upgrades ( which can counter that) i never know what o do in such mu. Thanks for any advices

It really depends on your start and the map you're playing. If you get a really good start, you can go for heroes. For example, on Anorien and Fangorn, heroes can be a good choice because you can creep trolls. However, on Wold, I wouldn't recommend it because you need to fight for map control, and early horses are important for that.
Teamwork is also important. If you're going for heroes, make sure your ally is going for horses. If both of you go for heroes, it can be risky because you might lose map control.
If you go for horses and your opponent goes for heroes, make sure you don't feed your horses to their heroes, as it's very easy to lose them that way. Use your horses primarily to gain map control, destroy your opponent's farms, and take or steal creeps. Wait until you get upgrades before engaging their heroes directly.
